Located in the heart of Islamabad, the Pakistan National Museum of Ethnology, popularly known as the Heritage Museum, offers an immersive journey through the vibrant cultural tapestry of Pakistan. Established in 1982 as folk art museum and renovated in 2004, it is the country’s first state museum of ethnology, showcasing the living traditions of diverse communities from both mainstream and remote regions.

Spanning 60,000 square feet, it is Pakistan’s largest museum, featuring dynamic exhibit halls that highlight folk heritage, traditional lifestyles, music, crafts, and festivals. Unlike conventional archaeological museums, the Heritage Museum brings culture to life—connecting past and present through visual narratives, dioramas, and ethnographic displays.

As a cultural landmark, the museum not only celebrates Pakistan’s rich diversity but also fosters international understanding through its global link passages and cross-cultural exhibitions. It is a space for learning, pride, and cultural continuity—a living treasure house for all generations.
