Lok Virsa-Tribute to the legends of the land.
Lok Virsa today organized the launch ceremony of Prime Minister’s Initiative to promote arts and culture of Pakistan in collaboration with Nationa Heritage and Culture Division. People from different fields as well as artists from local community and renowned folk singer Zarsanga from KPK also attended the ceremony.
Mr. Salman Sufi, Head, Prime Minister’s Strategic Reforms Implementation Unit through his video message lauded the efforts of Lok Virsa and especially thanked Ms. Fareena Mazhar, Secretary National Heritage and Culture Division who directed and supervised the project.
Mr. Muzaffar Ali Barki, Executive Director, Lok Virsa was the chief guest of the ceremony who launched the website, YouTube channel and application for general public. In his address, he felt proud to be a the part of this initiative by the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
The website, YouTube channel are open to public for listening to folk, classical and sufi music dug up from the golden archive of Lok Virsa that holds the folk treasure of Pakistan. Such recordings include original songs of music legends such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Abida Perveen, Reshma etc.
